Logbook servicing
Servicing to the manufacturer schedule so the book stays stamped and the warranty stays intact.
Street Class Automotive is a workshop on Elizabeth Street and a mobile mechanic that comes to you. Logbook servicing, brakes, clutches, air conditioning, auto electrical, and full system diagnostics on gear that tells us what the fault is before anything gets replaced.

In the workshop
Cars, 4WDs, utes and vans, plus motorcycles, caravans, trailers and earthmoving gear.

Most of what comes through the roller door is ordinary: a service due, a noise that has been there a fortnight, brakes that need doing before the next long drive. That is the work that keeps a car on the road, so it gets the same attention as anything else.
Servicing to the manufacturer schedule so the book stays stamped and the warranty stays intact.
General engine repairs and maintenance, from the routine to the jobs other shops would rather not open up.
Clutch replacement and driveline work, done in the workshop with the car up on the hoist.
Brake servicing and a proper look over the car, which is exactly what the front window has advertised since day one.
Front end work for cars that have spent their life on North East Victorian back roads.
Radiators, hoses and cooling system repairs, the thing that strands you on the Hume in February.
A Snap-on Triton D8 scan tool reads every system in the car, not just the engine light. On a Ford Ranger that means seven systems interrogated and the exact codes listed. It is the difference between replacing a sensor because it might be the sensor, and replacing it because it is.
One customer put it better than we could: good, honest mechanic, able to diagnose and repair, not just replace.
Full system code scans on a Snap-on Triton D8, so a fault gets identified before anything gets replaced.
Electrical faults traced and repaired rather than guessed at part by part.
Air conditioning servicing and repair, which matters more in Benalla than most places.
Exhaust repairs, replacements and upgrades.

Plenty of jobs do not need a tow truck, they need someone to turn up with the right gear. The scan tool goes out on the road, so a car that will not start in a driveway in Benalla gets diagnosed where it sits.

Around here a workshop that only touches passenger cars is not much use. These come through the door too.

“Tom was extremely helpful with changing the Globes in my car!! Would highly recommend!”
“I found this to be a great mechanic. Friendly, cheaper than the other mechanics, fitted us in to do the job when others couldnt. I will defiantly be taking my vehicles back there”
“Good, honest mechanic! Able to diagnose and repair not just replace. When unable to source a changeover part Tom was able rebuild the part needed and get a car that I'd considered scrapping running perfectly again.”
“I had an issue where my car randomly stopped starting. Tom from Street Class Automotive came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. He sourced the necessary part in no time and had my car back on the road faster than expected. Great service, knowledgeable, and efficient, highly recommend!”
“The crew at Street Class were absolutely excellent. They were professional, kind, and completely understanding. I broke down over the weekend and had spent 2 days trying to fix my car, as my car is uncommon and modified, expecting no one around to be able to help me. I swallowed my pride and reached out to find the guys were happy to take me in and actually had experience with my car, which was a relief.
Shortly upon entering the workshop the team made a brief diagnosis which turned out to be correct and the cause for all my other problems. The problem being somewhere between Sydney and Winton I had topped up with some poor fuel which contaminated my entire tank. The crew got the car running in no time and saved me an exorbitant amount of money in towing fees to get myself and the car back to Sydney.”

Street Class Automotive opened in 2022 and moved into the site the old Benalla Automotive left behind. It is a fully licensed and insured shop, and the work is done by a qualified mechanic rather than passed down the line.
Tom runs it, and reviews name him again and again: the bloke who came out to a car that would not start, who rebuilt a part nobody could supply, who fitted a job in when other shops could not. There is a crew behind him, so more than one car is on the hoists at a time.
